i got my first 94 gs300 last year and i love the luxurious feel of the lex.
this year i decided to upgrade by the end of 05 to a higher year and model and actually considered a 2000 gs 3000 and a 2002 nissan altima(which is a nice car). i told my older brother about my ideas and you know what he said?
HE called me an idiot
for even thinking of leaving the lexus line.
then i began to wonder whether or not trying out a lexus does get u addicted to lexus.
But i came to realise i am not addicted but it is the car that has in fact shown me its quality and proven itself to be the best of the bests.
people, it is lexus 4 life 4 me . how about u?
if it isn't what other cars would u like to get in the future and why?

2000 GS300 vs. 2002 Altima 3.5se??? I would have to take the altima, those things are quick (vq35 powered, same motor as 350z) and very nice on the inside I might add. Lexus is baller status, but those 3.5SE's roll out!

Nissan makes a good car, but if I had to choose between the altima and a GS300, I would go with the GS. The altima doesnt really do it for me in the looks category. The altima is also FWD
.

Last night I watched the Clippers game with my boss, the CFO and our external accountant who took us for the game. After the game we started talking about cars and the CFO asked our independent accountant where's her BMW and she replied it's at the dealership being repaired. Her transmission went out and it's going to cost her alot of money and she also has electrical problems. To my surprise she complained at the high repair/maintenace cost and she wants to get another BMW. She knows that Lexus is reliable but she is set on getting a new BMW. I don't understand the logic.
I have a 1996 ES 300 with over 250K miles and it runs great. I still have the same engine and transmission. I'm sure I must have saved a ton of money and time not having to take my car to the dealership to have it repaired. It's Lexus for life for me as well.

I'm just a big toyota fan. I turned my entire family over to toyota a long time ago, The list goes from newest to oldest:
'05 Avalon (Mom)
'98 Land Cruiser (my Wife)
'93 GS 300 (Mine!
)
'92 Camry (Sis)
'90 Camry (Pop)
As far as what to buy, welcome to ClubLexus.com. You can't ask us that kind of question without getting a bias oppinion! Buy what you like, and then jump on the forum to say "I love my car!" you will probably like whatever you buy regardless, just get your priorities straight and go drive them. I personally think my GS3 steers kinda weird, but then again, I have'nt driven a "car" in quite some time (also the alignment could be off) so I can't trust my judgement, all I know is it has a strong, dependable motor at the heart and there is plenty of room for performance improvement. Some of the parts you want will take some hunting or fabricating but it still is a very nice car. Good luck with your choice and we hope to see you back here.

There is no doubt that Toyota\Lexus makes a great product, but as far as bang for the buck, the Altima 3.5 SE is awesome, very well apointed and quick -- I have a GS400 and I can honestly say its a faster car - believe it.
Nissan's only mistake with this car was naming it "Altima". The car is a far cry from the Altimas of yore. When I think Altima I think early '90s with fading paint, bashed in fender with a cracked out single mom behind the wheel. Nothing at all like the new ones. Heres a few shots of my friends old 3.5SE.
I dunno I just really loved this car -- RIP

men,
thats one sick altima.
my buddie told me the 3.5's are the greatest.
i will definitely go for test drives but i still have my mind set on the 2000 gs 300.
"once you go lex, its hard to go back".
i have a 94 gs300 which still competes with hondas and toyotas of 99-2001.
some people think it is a 99 lexus.
just shows that lexus has been exceling from long time before.
maybe if i make some extra money,
i can get an altima just for the fun of it..
by the way,
is it worth it to buy a car from the states and bring it down here to toronto, canada.(i mean cost, taxes , stress, government etc). is it worth it ?
