Car insurance: do you have full coverage or collision only?
I have a 94 1gs with full-coverage, and the insurance rate has been going up VERY slowly over the years. Insurance agent said it is because parts for the car is expensive and hard to come by. So, even with full-coverage, if my car is in an accident it will most likely be written off as "TOTALED."
So, do you have full-coverage or liability-only?
Thanks.

Full coverage...19 years old..$1600 per year. When I first got the car at age 17, I had full coverage but it $2800 a year. So insurance has gone down for me...alot.
BTW, my record is clean.

Basic coverage here. I'm almost 30, I have a ZX6R, a 10,000 lb cargo van, a camper, and a wife (the wife alone is enough to stop at, I'm VERY lucky to have the afformentioned!!)

When you purchase full coverage, you get insurance for the value of the car. If you have a $5,000 stereo you can claim it on your full coverage insurance and hopefully you will be re-imbersed but you need proof of purchase and photos help, but your mods...........I'm sorry. The car has to be street legal, try calling your insurance company and asking them what your coverage would jump to if you put a racing engine in your luxury sedan and you want them to cover the cost of repair if you reck it!!! (even still you need a reliable insurance company and hope they don't cancel you after that). That's all I have, Take care.

yeah, basically in my experience if you have receipts and photo evidence of all the electronics in your car they will usually cover it with full coverage...however they get a little dodgy when it comes to engine mods...checking with your insurance agent would be a good idea. mind you don't mention all the stuff is done, just ask what they could cover as if you hadn't bought anything yet..

Full coverage. Paying about $100 a month. The comprehensive helped on my first car that was stolen. I got comprehensive mainly for the windshield damage and ended up using it when the car was stolen and the comprehensive covered that.
