Default tire size question

I have 18X7.5 inch rims and i was wondering if anyone could tell me if these tires would fit on them.. the tires are 245/40/18 is there any problem these would create? are the tires too wide for the rims?

Anyone who could help me would be great. i am in kind of a hurry to get some help.

They should fit....might be a touch wide, but shouldn't be too much of a problem.....I would probably go with 225 on a 7.5inch wheel.....but that's me...

Where did you get them? Did you just buy them or where they just laying around and, are you sure they fit? I've seen people on here with 20's so I think some 245 series 18's should fit nice. If you have a drop you might take it easy on the lock-2-lock u-turns and go slow over speed bumps to be safe until you know how much clearance you have.

Edited to say that upon reflection I realize that you actually said "I have 18x7.5" rims, will these tires fit?" I apologize for sounding like an ***. Then again, I've had a few cold ones tonight, I probably should'nt even be using the computer right now, wow, what a concept. See ya later...................good luck

well after looking into it again the 245's would be a touch wide on those wheels, but the 245/40 would give you the closest to stock wheel and tire height....which would be important in keeping the speedometer and odometer close to normal...it would read about 1.3 miles faster than what you would actually be going. depending on the softness or stiffness of the sidewall will determine the ride quality, however the shortened sidewall height will stiffen it up a bit as well. So yes, they'll fit and it should be alright......what brand and model are they if I may ask.

2jz,

If you don't mind me asking, are you buying those tires from a company? That price is great! I am looking for the exact size. I had the 245/40/18 on my 1996 GS and need a new set, but my rims are 8.5 inches wide.

Depends on if you want to stretch the tire for that DTM look......then you could fit something pretty narrow over it....but I would say that 245 should be about it.....245/35/19 should be about right

does 225/45r18 sounds reasonable for 18x8.5 front wheels? ----what are the specs of the stock wheels?

I would suggest sticking to the 245/18/35 would be the best considering the width of the wheels
