I dont know much about the Nak system, but if its wired the same as the pioneer, then no, you cant just use an aftermarket amp in place of the stock amp. I say you buy a new deck, and just run the door speakers off the deck. The only problem is you wont be able to use the sub. If you want everything the way it is, then you will have to find another Nak amp.

Are you sure it's the Nak system? Seems kind of odd for a 93. There are 2 Pioneer amps for sale in the classifieds IIRC.

no i know for sure it is a nak, the player says nakamichi on it as well as the amp in the trunk, it says nakamichi corp as well. It was also diagnosed by the dealer as a nakamichi amp... but luckily i was able to fix it by drying off the unit.

thanks for all the help people

You need to get the trunk leak fixed first. Then why don't you take the amp apart. There might be an internal fuse inside you could simply replace.

If not, you might be able to look at the circuitboard and see exactly where the circuitry got fried. An electronics shop could repair the broken contact/contacts for probably under $100.

Just a thought.

EDIT: oh you got it fixed. Well in case anyone else isn't as lucky I'll leave this post up.
