Default EGR Valve and o2 Sensors

Everyone who owns this vehicle knows these are one of the most popular reasons for the check engine light to come on. But what do each of those things do? what will happen if you dont fix them, and how much will it cost (range) to replace each of them.

I've read that the EGR valve is like $60 or so. I think that is my next purchase in the pursuit to kill the CEL. I did all 3 of my O2 sensors and that little effer is still on!

If you dont replace them, your gas mileage is gonna be gone. Im pretty sure I need to replace my O2 sensors, even though I have no CEL. As far as the EGR, you dont necessarily need it working properly, you just need the computer to think it is, hehe. If you want to find out what it does or how to remove it and fool the computer, check here http://www.clubna-t.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132
Anyway, just read that thread and you will see if this is possible for you or not.

I got my sensors on eBay, I don't remember the exact price but they were VERY VERY cheap! All plug and play, no soldering, etc.

I just checked my ebay purchases. Look for a seller called "global-automotive". I just looked at what he has and now the sensors he has for 1st generation are Denso's but you have to do the soldering for the 4 wires, not a big deal though. They are $23 + $2.50 shipping & handling. You need three of them.
