Default Gas!!

man gas is killing me, what are you guys getting mileage wise on a full tank?? and just a quick question, is our gas tank really 21 gallons?? i never really checked when i fill up the tank, but i was on edmunds the other day and it said our gas tank was 21.1 gallons.

I think i need to get a gas friendly civic to help on the daily drives LOL

Eh, gas isnt so bad. Yeah, I know...flame suit on...but I mean, Its not gonna come back down, and its supposed to hit about 4 bucks by the end of summer, so you might as well start saving a little more..or buy a bike haha. If I lived somewhere where I didnt have to get on the freeway to go to school or work, I would ride my bike all the damn time, only problem is I cant get anywhere unless I hop on the freeway and drive about 5 miles, so Im kinda screwed there. Oh well, I dont mind shellin out the 3.20 for premium, I love my car, and I still drive it like I always do, but for some reason Im getting better gas mileage now than I ever was As of right now, I just got home and I have half a tank of gas and 185.6 miles on the ODO. So 18 miles to the gallon with mostly city driving(yes I realize I said I live off the freeway, but once I get to where I have to exit..I drive stop and go for maybe another 5-10 miles). Anyway, the only thing we can really do right now is hope that gas doesnt really reach 4 bucks. Good luck to all you people, I hope yall are still around after the summer, I know this gas guzzler isnt exactly the best car to own right now, but I know I would miss it if I had to let it go.

I do Mostly city driving from my house to school and its about 8 to 10 miles, but during the afternoons when i have to pick up my sister i take the highway bach and travel between 70-80 for 8 miles and between 100 to 120 depending on how empty the highway is as soon as it expands from 3 lanes to 7 lanes for 2 miles. i fill up on saturday nights and put a little bit if it finishes before next saturday, as of right now i have a K& N filter in my car and i get a distance of 280 to 290 miles per tank. is that sort of normal? i habe 2 12's in my trunk and i have 19" wheels, how much would that affect mileage? BTW i have a 4 speed auto 1994.

Gas here in MB, SC is $3.03 a gallon. On recent hwy trips into Atlanta I turned back to back 370 miles tanks from fullup to the low fuel light coming on. Each time i filled up it was only adding about 16-17 gallons, so I'm getting 22-23mpg. Mix of city/hwy driving, on the hwy cruising between 80-90mph and blasts of up to 140 on that trip (damn Dodge v8 truck thought he could just slip in front of me and box me in...)

I think my o2 sensor needs to be replaced, car is pretty rich on startup in the morning too.. so it should get better. Once I locate a Supra Power FC and can do some off-load map tuning it will get even better.

2JZGTE.. FTW!

Really, as bad as it is, and it SUCKS! I get 220 miles to a tank if I'm lucky....In Europe they were paying over $1./Liter when I left in 01...I can't imagine it's gotten any better!

On the other hand, I was recently in KUWAIT, where the gas is LESS than .20/Liter.......Hmmmm

Smile Looking at it from a different perspective

Its not really all that bad guys. I get about 21 mpg with nice driving and about 340 per tank, which i consider is pretty good. We all prolly drive about 1000 miles a month right?? I paid 2.71 for 91 octane the other day (look around, i'm sure theres a gastation like that in your area 87 cost the same as 91) So 1000miles divide by 20 mpg = 50 gallons per month. if u pay 2.71 per gallon, you will spend 135$ per month. If you pay 3.50$ per gallon, you will spend 175$ per month. Thats only 40$$ more!! and only 360 per year!

Now look at it from this way. If you buy a civic gas saver....minimul of 1500$$ + Gas + Insurance + Old beater car = repairs so there you go! How much are you really winning in the end. At the same time, your giving up class and luxury!

I've thought about this numerous times and the numbers are just too outrageous for me to get a more fuel efficient car!!

Also wait around for a little bit, E85 will make it big really really REALLY soon and its going to be much cheaper than regular unleaded and gas prices will have no choice but to go down..............i think or atleast i believe

my S13 even on boost is so easy on the gas
I was running 16 psi (actually got the boost controller lines cleaned, but they are messed again argh) and I went about 40 miles and only used 1.6 gallons (got a fill up to see right after, dumb gauges need a new circuot board) and that was with giving 4 fun rides to friends.

When I drove to HIN San Jose from my house I got there and it was below the 1/4th. If I recall I was able to get 390 miles out of a full tank with 90% highway driving.

City and highway I get about 330-360 on a full tank with all my mods as well.

Filled up yesterday and it cost me 3.41 for chevron 91.
