Default Hobby, Lifestyle,or Fad...

There are many devoted Lexus owners in this forum, and I wanted to know how many of you choose to work on yall's rides as just a hobby and who thinks this is a lifestyle?

It does not necessarily have to be a "lexus" that you may be Moding, all autos in general..

All are encouraged to reply

Thumbs up

One word "Passion"

I have been around racing and all sorts of motorsports all my life....

It is about being unique and I feel your car is a message about you and the way you portray yourself to others not in a bad way but a way of expression.

that is my view....but over all if i had to pick between the 3....I would definately say Lifestyle.

Lifestyle - I believe that my car is an extension of me and therefore should reflect me, my style and what I'm all about.

I agree w/ all of the above

Its so cool that we can "individually" use are creative talents and incorperate them onto our carz.

RIGHT ON!!

Hobby. My car's an appliance. My first nice car, however, was a very demanding expensive mistress. After that ordeal, I swore never again.

if you have 'a' project car, then it's a hobby. If you have several that you are working on/worked on, and or you think "what could I do to that" about most of the cars you see, then it's a lifestyle, or passion. it's kind of a matter of perspective. My wife would say something along the lines of lifestyle for us as we both look at every car and evaluate it and what could be done....so all in all it depends on how you look at it or feel about it. Not exactly something you can just definitively say it is or isn't. But if you are putting unpainted body panels or spoilers and such on, then it's not a passion...it's a fad. Or at least that's my .02

Its more a passion. To see the end result of my car throught my eyes, there is nothing better I can imagine. I really dont ever plan on selling this car. When my grandmother first bought it in 96, I loved this car. Back then it was something to see, even now half the cars I see dont compare to this one. It is my love, its the little things that count, and the big ones that make the car great.
Bed time.

hobby. drifting and road racing are my lifestyle. with several projects going on (my JZS147 first, my hachi 20V second and a time attack s13 coupe recently aquired) I can say working on my cars is just a part of my lifestyle BUT not entirely my lifestyle.
