Nope. the break lights drain lots of lower. we have 8 dual filament bulbs going on at the same time and the rear deck LED break lights. I had the exact same problem right before the alternator died on me. Everytime i stepped on the breaks my rpm needle and speedometer needle all the lights inside would cut off. and my engine would die if i held on any longer. but as soon as i let go it was fine..... I had to drive the last mile home using the emergency break that way the engine wouldn't die.

Sorry J, I should have quoted... my response was in reply to Xeeeee***s post / question.
One thing on the older 1UZ design that I'm not sure is an issue here as well, but the position of the alternator is under an area that sometimes gets a minor leak above it (power steering) that goes into the alternator causing issue.

My alternator is doing the same thing. If I hit the brakes with the A/C fan on, it slows it almost to a stop until I release the brake. It picks back up almost immediatly after releasing it. If I'm sitting at a light for too long the A/C will disenagage the stator and hot air starts to blow. Not good when it's 112 outside.
