i'm not sure... my 1G knowledge is very spotty

did the twin turbo aristos come with a manual transmission? i'm just wondering what parts they used to convert to this 6spd manual setup... is it all supra donor parts, right down to the clutch pedal? everything is bolt-on?

yea i dont believe the 1gen ever had a manual. It is most likely a 6spd swap from a supra.

Because it's a real aristo. *Hint - Look at the steering wheel location.

OK, for some history, here I go:

The JZS147 and UZS143 where first produced by Toyota in 1990 sold as a 1991 model. If you don't know, the UZS143 uses the V8 also found in the SC400 (soarer) and the LS400 (Celsior). It was also produced in an AWD plattaform only in 92-93 with the V8 and it was a special edition-short production type of deal. Weird but true. This car was never available as a manual. BUT, a Supra TT swap is infallibly possible and straight forward. The manual swap is very straight forward requiring moderate fabrication (mostly on the pedal adaptation area). They also swap out the diff pumpking from the TT MKIV in order to use the getrag 6 speed tranny. In our case, we will have to start off by getting an Aristo motor set, sell the tranny and buy a totaled TT Supra. Again, sell the TT engine and keep the rest of the car to source up the manual swap. One idea that's been circling around my head is getting a front clip from a JZX100 and do a 5 speed manual tranny. The USDM differential is the same as the 1JZ powered Soarer, Chaser, and MKIV JDM Supra 92-94 (MKIV Supras in japan where abailable with either a 2JZ TT, 1JZ single, or N/A. Weird but true.) so the LSD option wouldn't be a problem. the real problem on doing a 1JZ swap using either the 1JZ auto or manual tranny is the driveshaft. Our driveshaft sucks. A custom one will run you around 400 so I believe that a 1JZ 5 speed manual swap will cost up to 5K using a front clip from a JZX100 chaser/cresta 5-speed manual......

Just my .02....... that looks like a dollar for being such a huge reply LOL

j-spec is a branch business that is local to me and has been around for almost 2 years. they opened up shop in canada because our importation rules now allow cars 15 years or older from other countries to be imported here, which is why we have lots of street legal r32 gtr skylines and 1jz soarers running around here. the main company is based in australia and has been there for quite some time. i see a lot of their cars running around where i live and i've read few complaints about them on the local boards.
