Default Installed the Ijnen intake

well i bought this intake off the local economy and paid the price. great product and nice worksmanship but it was for a supra and not the Aristo. but being a guy that cant accept defeat i made it work. i guess the supra has a different MAF sensor set up so i have more parts than i needed but not all that i needed (make sense?) i had to adapt the design to get it all fit. i know you are asking why i didnt return it, and i would if i spoke japanese and had the reciept. in the end it worked out. the only tool related thing i had to do was drill a hole for the air charge temp sensor. the cool thing was the grommet for the sensor that was on the stock filter worked just fine. After i put it in i realized that the car is much too classy for the noise that the short ram lets out. a small price to pay i guess, but in its credit, if you dont hammer the trottle it is stock-like quiet so i can control it. well enough typing here are some pics... i hope you like it

looks small after you are used to the stock air box

Yes i agrre it ia a bit short, but when the oem filter was $50 and this was $170 i thought i would try it. i bought it from a shop here in okinawa, are you on island or in Cali like your sig say?

I have the same intake on my N/A Supra... the reason it looks a bit short is because the maf is supposed to sit between the pipe and the filter, but glad to see you are making it work. The only thing is now the filter is about 3 inches closer to the engine bay, so maybe its more susecptible to picking up warmer air?
I personally think this is the best intake out there for the 2jz-ge. Looks good, and I noticed better throttle response, with the only extra sound coming when the throttle is at or near full. Its good.

on the manifold. i have an actual JDM car so there are small differences from a stateside GS i guess

he's got the jdm spec motor in there. he dont need the maf sensor.

to be honest, no. but it does seem less hesitant to get to the power band but when it is there i dont think it is stronger. in its defence the last car i put one of these on took about 2 weeks to get used to the new air flow, then it felt a lot better. i am worried more about MPG. the price of gas here is a bit high and the easy on the trottle method doesnt work for me, foots to heavy....

You should get a better throttle response and a few more horses mainly in the mid and upper range of the rpm band. I also got better gas mileage by about 2-3mpg. Don't expect an air filter/intake to do any more than that. However, coupled with an exhaust, header, and safc, you will realize some substantial gains. With all those additions, I put down 210rwhp in my N/A Supra (same as SC3) with 150K miles. That puts it at about 255-260hp at the crank.
