Default Back from the dyno

Did some tuning with the Apexi today, and I was really glad I had it. I had to pull 17% fuel across the top at WOT. The end result was 325hp and 323tq on 12psi. I need to get a BCC so I can turn it up higher. I hear that I can get to 16psi on the crappy gas we have here in Phoenix. I tried to email a dyno chart to myself but their internet connection was down. I'll try to get it on Tuesday when they reopen.

nice #s Chris.. but why no more boost? I'm not whacking boost cut until the SAFC2 is showing at least 1.05bar. You can definitely run a full 14 psi, unless of course you are doing it to save the tranny.

Cant wait to get mine back out to the dyno.

I recalculated and it was more like 13psi. Stupid bar calculation. The trans actually is shifting strong according to the dyno. It was a lean spike during the shift that felt like the rev limiter. I also did some adjustments to the throttle point for correction on the AFC which was a big help with driveability. I find that if you set the low at 68 and the high at 70, its the perfect spot. If you down shift it takes about 68% throttle to get it to kick. I can finally say it was worth the money for me.

68 and 70 ehh? I'll have to give that a shot.

what gear are you doing pulls in? when I was dynoing I would run in 2nd gear, from about 2500 rpm up, ETC/PWR switch on, and unfortunately overdrive on too, since my switch has always been broken from the first week i had the car.

have you seen the thread on SF about a switch to lock the convertor?

glad she is working well now for you. still want a spare?

When I do my dyno pulls, I get it up to 40mph and then nail it. I go through second and third gear to get as much data as possible. I'm at a steady 12:1 in 3rd gear, however second gear is another story. Either my fuel pump isn't switching to 12v fast enough or the wideband isn't reading right. It goes real lean right when I nail it and then down to 12:1. I'm leaning towards the dyno wideband because of how well it's running. If it was really that lean when I nail it, the car should buck like a bronco, not take off like a rocket. I wish I had thought of jumpering B+ and FP on the diagnostic to force 12v on the dyno. Next weekend I guess.
Jeff - I don't think I need a spare trans, but I'd like to discuss getting the torque converter from you to have it worked.

sup kaiser. I have been hanging out with richard from tucson's densetsu motorsports (he owns a wicked black supra) and he is really convincing me on doing this swap... =,D

You know of anyone running the JDM Aristo swap using the AEM ECU? I will try to run a single T67 and also convert to manual...

I think SP in IL is working on one, huge turbo, built auto I'm sure Larry will use the AEM if so. GS300PnP is the car I believe??

Running an AEM is no big deal. I just can't justify it at my power level.

No, I have a 60-1. It's in my signature. Unless you are putting down 450+ there really is no need for the AEM. The stock map sensor will make it to about that level. If I was doing that much power, my trans would not live anyway, so there is no point.

Yep, I have the a complety built up setup. AEM, 1000cc, dual pumps, Stage V head, ARP l19, carillos, SP400, RD, LDS, DLI, race intake, 4" Dp/MP, Fluidyne etc.... waiting for the drive shaft and reassembling the interior and all the gauges inside the car. Pics to come.. My turbo and manifold is by HKS, Turbo is the TR51 SPL. We will know in about two weeks. I'll need to seat everything before we start doing pulls. But winter is around the corner and I'm in and out of town so I don't think I'll get it on the track this year. We expect over 800hp easy the target is 900hp no shot just C16 fuel. We just want to do low 9's which is highly possible. However, the turbo is known to be laggy so I may have to put a 75 shot to spool it up and get max power. Time will tell.
