just had another thought. make sure the ground lugs for the harness are on the intake manifold. they may have been pushed back when they pulled the mani and head and not bolted back on. should be 2 on the driver's side, one in the back is kind of under the mani, other is toward the front and right where the 2 halves come together.

I don't think so, I mentioned it, but they seem to dismiss everything I say...He said he could check the coolant temp sensor at the ECU with the Ohm settings I got from a CD, but I don't know if he checked it or not...

I don't think they swapped O2 sensors, but I don't know if they're even in the car anymore, but once again, he didn't think that was the problem.

I have NO IDEA what you're talkin' about, but when they get back from the race next Tuesday I'll ask them about it. They said they'd put it on a lift and look, which they haven't done since it's a PITA with the kit. Odds are it'll end back up at my mechanics house and he'll have to tear it back apart....

if it was running properly when you dropped it off (except the overheat) then they need to man up and do what's necessary to make it right. i dunno.. that may be how other shops do it, but i never did. maybe that is why i'm not rich

I'm talking about the grounds for the engine harness. on the drivers side of the motor, on the lower intake manifold. lack of a good ground path especially for the injectors and sensors, will cause hella frustrating problems.

I couldn't agree more, but there's not a whole lot of protection for the consumer. He keeps saying that "It was towed here, and I didn't try to start it." Basically, questioning my integrity and that of my mechanic.

Thanks for all the help, but I don't know how much more they'll do....

Thanks for all the ideas. Turns out it was the coolant temp sensor after all. They replaced it and it runs perfectly now. I picked her up two days ago and gave her a bath today.

I will, just have to fix the window regulator motor, replace the driver's rear window moulding, and replace a balast. All the parts are on the way, so hopefully by the weekend I'll have some more pics/vids
