Default Eeeeeeek! I Got A Prob!!!

ok so yesterday i started my car and was backing out and my battery light came on and then along with that came the traction light....upon noticing the lights i put the car into park n then back into reverse.....and nothing. so then i put the car back into park and there the car starts to rev like its losing traction and well....it wouldnt stop. i manage to pull the car back forward and park it. i wake up today and start the car and everything is fine. the car warms up for bout 10 min and i hear a high pitched squealing and then a sperratic squeaking and sounded like around the alternator. and so i shut the car off and let it sit again and come back to it about 5 pm today and go out and start it and starts to have trouble starting....and then put it into reverse and then park again and bam it starts to rev back and forth like the car is losing traction and now the car is stuck in the parking gear and the gears are locked and it wont move.......any suggestions of what could have gone wrong???!!!

How much play is in the serp belt? Sounds like it's slipping and charging intermittenly.

maybe adjust the alternator too maybe its out of placed ..... bench test that alternator too

well i can check the belt and the alternator but that doesnt explain why the trac light comes on and the car thinks that the back tires are losing traction and starts reving like its trying to gain back traction.......and also now...it still stuck in park it just wont go into drive or reverse!!!!!

Welcome, and you are going to have to try and be a little more detailed with your question.. maybe in another thread. Try an intro post too.

Sounds to me like your Alternator may be locking up.. try and remove the serpentine belt and see if the alternator spins freely. Loss of voltage will do ALL kinds of things to the car.. tranny etc..
