Default gte head gasket

besides the thickness of the gaskets, what the differents of the gte and ge, because i just got my so called gte head gasket, but it's kind of funny that it's pretty much the same thing? Does the gte gasket have more ports for coolant or something to tell the two gaskets apart? I can't take the gasket out of the package then i would have to pay for it. Thanks, MIC123321

The GTE headgasket should be thicker than the GE headgasket. If your putting a GTE headgasket on a GE head then it should lower your compression to around 9:1.

Just the thickness. IIRC GE = .051 and GTE is .160. I read the spec on Supra forums so verify it there.

thanks, for the info kaiser, my teacher and i measured the thickness and there were close to the same since one was already compressed, so i brought the gasket back and went to the toyota dealership to get the gasket it there. A little more expensive, but at least i know it's actually oem.
