Sticking gas pedal

I've done a forum search on this, but can't find any results. Should be a common problem. My gas pedal sticks when the engine is cold. It sticks when initially depressing it, i.e., when beginning to accelerate. I'm hoping the throttle is just stuck due to grim, so I'm going to clean it and the EGR valve. But, I once had a car with the same problem and it turned out that the throttle was bent. So my question here is, has anyone experienced a sticking throttle cable that wasn't due to dirt buildup? If so, what was it and how did you solve it?
Thanks,
Jon
Thanks,
Jon

Mine stuck open twice. Thats all it took for me to be serious. I cleaned 160k miles of grime off the throttle plate in the TB and oiled the shaft. Thats all it took. About ten minutes.
