JZS147 swap thread
#211
So just as an update, I found a GS (on here) that had the GTE/V161 swap done to it. Currently, the car is missing a motor and transmission so i'll be dropping in a GTE VVTI motor and a R154 in the near future. Only reason why I'm going VVTI is because those motors are $1000 cheaper and I'll just take the car to someone else to have it wired. Mechanically, there's no other differences between installing the None VVTI and the VVTI motor right?

As shown in my build thread, its just wiring that you have to really deal with. But the throttle body setup is a bit different than the older models and are more complicated and harder to get working perfectly.

Ok...I'll bite and resurrect this...read through it all and i cannot find anything specific to the 96 gs300. I have a 96 gs300 and an aristo 2jzgte from the same. I have the harness and ecu from the aristo gte. I'm searching for the body plug conversions so i can plug the engine harness plugs into the dash/body plugs.

Sorry for not having responded sooner, I was locked out of my account for quite some time.
you can find the aristo wiring information here http://wilbo666.pbworks.com/w/page/3...ngine%20Wiring
The electrical wiring manual I have is for a 1995, but that should be close enough to be the same. I will reply to your pm with a way to find it.
