1uz-fe
was thinking about putting in a 1uz-fe in a first gen GS300. anyone ever done this yet?
any ideas a 1uz-fe v8 motor fit perfectly in the First gen GS300?
are the frame rails and engine mounts etc same for the SC300 and the first gen GS300?
would i still be able to use the heater hoses/heater in the same location from the GS300 and the 1uz-fe?
i know the 1uz-fe shares it in the same location as the supra/sc300
curious about the 1uz-fe auto tranny fitting in the gs300 or not/driveshaft

The Aristo came with an AWD version of the 1uz over in Japan. Not sure what you would have to do to make it work, but to be honest, unless you plan on turboin or S/C the 1uz, its not worth it.

Thats what I was going to do but changed my plan and went with the 2JZGTE swap. no matter which way I would have gone cost would have been the same and maybe more because you'll need to upgrade suspension and braking for the added weight and power. that motor is pretty good. Seems there's been an increasing interest in dual turboing the SC400's and thats what I wanted to do in the begining. I'm happy with the 2JZGTE swap. there's plenty of support and information for this.
I know for the tranny mount you would have to flip it around for the additional space required for the V-8. As for motor mounts, contact lexus and see if you can get demensions of the engine mount locations on the cross frame. Also get the demensions of the mount brackets on each side The mounts itself... the V8 mounts is simlar to the 2JZ but the bolt size may be different. The rear diff will problably hold but if your going to smash on the pedal you'll probably shorten the life of your diff and tranny but thats a given.
I believe there are SF as wells as SC fans who can help. I've seen postings with people converting from the SC300 to the SC400 and others going from the SC400 to the 2JZ. they would be good contacts to find out about placement of the mounts.
