Default 1st Lexus 1995 GS300, I have questions

Yesterday My wife bought me a 1995 GS300 with 153000 miles on it for 7500.00 I LOVE THIS CAR, it is so smooth and fun to drive. The craftmanship is so good. However I have three main concerns.

1. Both front seats seem to have problems. It feels like the motor assembly of them is seized or is just plain broken. Any tips?

2. My Stock radio antenna is will not go down into the quarter pannel. I want to shave it off. I have seen a couple of you guys with that mod, my question is what do i do about reception, or a new antena?

3. My check engine light came on, any tips?

Thank you guys for any help.

1.>>> Haven't experienced this, but maybe you'll need to replace the motors?
(if it's possible)
2.>>> I had a similar issue. I just purchased a new antenna. It retracts fully, as expected
3.>>> Take it to someone that can pull the codes and diagnose the issue

Does the seat move any at all if yes and it seems to move one side more than the other, there is not a motor problem the seat has like a small gear assembly on one side of the seat when it wears down the seat jams. You can get the part @ the dealer about $70 each side and can be changed yourself

Do a search on the check engine light. It's most likely a clogged EGR. You can also diagnose the problem yourself. Use search, and if you don't find it post back and I'll tell you how.

At any rate, the issue is nothing to worry about unless it's something other than the EGR issue.

1. Not much you can do except replace the motors if they are worn out. Check the tracks to see if they are jammed also try using a voltmeter to see if they are still getting power.

2. You can buy a new antenna off the internet or you can get a bodyshop to weld shut the whole and repaint the panel. Then you can install one of those generic whip antennas or audi/bmw style fins on your roof.

3. Get out your paperclip and follow these instructions to get your engines error codes.

I had this same problem, I got the parts from the dealer and seats now work flawless. Easy to change, You will need to take the seats out of the car and take apart the front section of the track.
