There are orginally 8 bulbs. You need to use super bright white color LEDs.
You need to put a 400 ohms resistor serie to each LED.
You may want to put more LEDs to make it brighter if you do not find bright white LEDs.
With different colors of LEDs, you can make to the color your want.

tha tlooks great, how exactly do you get the instrument cluster out, I know there are two screws up top, but how do you get the bottom little tabs exposed for removal?

Just pull out the black part where the light adjustment attached to, you will see two screws in behind.
