what do you guys think?

My suggestion... I've been in your shoes and like Tony says its your call..
Below are some things to ask yourself..
do you want the show or the go?
If its show, then get the body restored. otherwise then do the na-t conversion.
Whats your goal as far as rwhp?
next one is the killer...
Do you intend to keep your car for a while?
Whats your realistic budget?
Are you street racing, strip or just want more go?
If you're going to open up the engine or pull it out, consider refreshing the internals. but when you do this, things will start to add up and before you know it you'll be spending $8k for motor refresh. this is a full-blown machining, blueprinting and balacing. i.e agressive knife edgeing the crank,
you'll need to check rings for wear, main and thrust bearing for wear etc..
take your time and make sure you review your options and not to overlook other expenses you will incurr during as well as after your project. you may reach a point where you've sunk in thousands of dollars doing things the right way and then suddenly run of of capital or have a change of heart. but this time its tool late to go back, otherwise you will loose time.
