oil pan gasket change

alldata quotes 16 hours of labor to change both of them, is there an easier way to accomplish this ?

there is no gasket. it is RTV silicone. the only way to remove the upper oil pan is to drop the front sub frame, or remove the engine from the car.
why do you want to change it? very rare for it to be leaking? more likely the oil you may be seeing under the car is from higher up.. or rear or front main crank seals.

that's what i said, but my mechanic degreased and cleaned off the whole bottom of the engine, ran it for about 30 minutes, and put it back up on the lift... he says oil pan leaking
