Stripped oil pan bolt

Help I think that i stripped the oil pan bolt, i was a dumb A$$ and i think it went in there wrong, better yet i know it did. Any info on getting it fixed? Maybe a machine shop will tap and die it?

You stripped the head? I went to ACE hardware and bought some bits made specifically to get out stripped bolts. I paid $15 for a set of them. Might as well take a good bolt with you to replace the stripped one once you get it out.

If the threads on your oil pan are bad, the least expensive way to repair is to
get an "oversized" self-tapping oil plug that will fit into the larger hole. Self-tapping will create new threads for the larger sized plug. Just search online or get at local auto supply store.
