what would i need to get a set of keys for my gs. the car i bought was seized by the marshalls and the ignition was changed. the key i have works for the ignition only. i got all the paper work to go the dmv to send out for the title, but the car dealer said it would take around 3 months. i dont wanna insure the car right now as i will be working on it, but i would like to have a key to open/lock the doors and trunk.
im guessing the 1st gen gs uses a remote key that electronically locks the driver side door, becuz i cant manually lock the drivers side door. when i push it locked, it opens back up. all the other locks i can manually lock. so i do need the remote key to lock it, or is something faulty in the driver side door.
can someone tell me what i should do i about my key situation?

Well if you know someone @ the dealer you can just give them the vin# and they can make a key for u, if jnot i think u need proof or registration and the vin to get the key made...and if i remember correctly the only time the door locks reopen themselves when pushed is when the ignition is on

If you try to lock it while the door is open it will do that to prevent you from locking your keys in the car.
