hmm, ok. Just wondering because I think the 850's I just purchased are the same kind and they won't fit the N/A rail. I may just weld up around the injector holes and drill larger. I don't know of an aftermarket rail that will fit the N/A runners.

Also, I just purchased a GT42. I am looking to push 800-850rwhp.

I just can't decide whether I go toyota BL tranny or TH400.

Do a custom rail with extrusion from ross. Thats all im doing.
For that kind of power I gaurantee your gonna need the th400. Which BTW ross also carries some cool parts for.
Everyone I have talked to about any of the built toyota trannys says the same thing. They may work for a while, but you are gauranteed it will break. Just a question of when.
Im either going to do a TKO600 manual or a 4L80e auto. Havent decided yet.
But my car is a daily and weekend driver so the 400 wont cut it for me.

4L80e? I hear you had to do a lot of tunnel mods to get these to fit, and there are only a few places that can build them to handle the power. The 4L80e is just a newer version of the 700r4 right?

How much your fuel rail costing you?

There are some tunnel mods needed but IMO its worth it for the driveability factor. There are a few that build them to handle crazy power. Theres a thread on SF right now but I cant find it cause of the stupid search engine.
I spoke to a few companies that can build them for around 400bux more than a th400. And the 4L is a th400 with OD. There is also the 4L60 and 700r4 though I hear those arent as strong.

Since I have the taps and AN fittings already, the rail is going to cost under around 50-60bux

Does anyone with the 1st Gen GS300 ever do a 1JZ swap instead of doing NA-T or GTE swap?

Reason i'm asking is because i've been thinking about picking up a 1st Gen GS and doing the 1JZ to use for a DD. I should probably do more reasearch on this too.

You should talk to El Captain. I believe he has a 1JZ swap done to his GS300. The 2JZ swap should be a lot easier though.

I have seen a few on the boards. I would do a 2J swap though. (oh wait I am ) Dont get me wrong im not baggin on the 1J at all. Its just that with the prices so similar and the fact that the aristo harness plugs in.

Reason why all this came up was i was looking at one of my old issues of like sports compact or something and saw that they did a 1J into a 1st Gen GS instead of a 2J. It was saying all this stuff about how much easier it would be because of size of engine and etc.... so thats what got me started thinking about all this. and plus i know of a place to pick up a 1J with tranny for under $2K verses a 2J for around $3200.

My next car needs to seat more then 2 people or else the wifey is gonna kill me. Dunno why she hates both the Supra and CRX LoL. So thats why i was thinking of picking up a 1st Gen for cheap and do this. I know i should probably search more before i put up questions like this. But if anyone can throw any information at me i would be willing to listen.
