need help...
I took my car to mechanic and he told me that I need fuel injector. Now he told me it costs $280 for labor. Is that right????? It is a 1993 GS300. I just need to know how hard it is to replace it and is that too much thank you.

A friend of mine replaced a bad injector from a '91 LS400 from a V6 Camry, check the serial numbers to cross reference the parts, you may get lucky, anyone out there please chime in to save a fella some dough.

Yeah I guess. I thought the land of the free even though isn't utterly free was a bit cheaper than the rest of the world lol. An injector wouldn't take 3.5 hours to change though would it?
Oh I keep forgetting you NA boys need to take the inlet manifold off to get at your injectors, silly me

Can't say its right but sounds like the type of quotes I have been getting from mechanics lately. Guy wants 120 each to replace 02 sensors... Looking under the hood best I could tell it takes 30 minutes to do both. They seem to be charging per part even if they have to touch one part to get to the other. I thought it was illegal but this is the third shop who pulled this scam on me. Time to dust off my tools from high school pick up a repair manual and get under the hood again.

counting diag and overhead, the price is right. It doesen't mean that you should go for it, I'm saying that is about right. What they are not telling you is that they are charging you ACCORDING TO THE BOOK, in other words, if you have a TT swap, they are charging you for taking the manifold out and changing the injector.... I would just do it myself but hey, if you are not mechanically inclined, I would get me a friend and pay him 2 six packs to do it for me (or whatever that is equivalent...) It would take about 1 hr for an experienced person replacing the o-ring and installing the injector.
