I have gotten tanks as bad as 300 my self but thats very heavy right foot for sure.
400 is with OUT ac!!! the car can't be THAT bad on gas come on! i don't believe it...
I mean it's not a friggen v10!
I don't think aristos have 2 cats... Just one.
I'll putll it all off add a air filter, change the plugs, and see how she does but I don't think it's goign to be that much better the car runs fine.... I didn't think the car would guzzle so much gas... I guess i'll have to get that emanage on there sooner then later to get leaner burns.
damn I'd expect 500 at least on a 79L tank or what ever it is...

I have a original 1993 TT Aristo,
and have bought and installed a brand new
O2 sensor recently.
The bad news is that,
it made little difference to the cars
power or economy.
I range between 18-22 mpg,
or more if using more of the engines potential...
I have 125,000 miles showing on mine, BTW.

OK there is a massive difference between 16 mpg stock and 20-22 mpg modified. There is definitely a problem somewhere as my stock TT averaged about 20 mpg and my t61 small single returns about the same if not better on longer trips.
It does though depend heavily on how much and how far you push that right foot down. My supe with 450 ish on BPU+++ mods caned fuel if you went for it. On a track day I dropped down to about 5 mpg. If you best the *** off your car everywhere you go then it won't be surprising to see 16 mpg. Also there are a lot of V10's about on the american market that won't even match the aristo's bhp.

I think it has more to do with the air filter, mine is really really bad too, I'm kinda hoping thats what's causing the really bad milage, actually i'm praying thats all it was.
But I have a whole slew of things to change anyways to try to get some more milage out of it.
Hoping that with a little help of the emanage leaning out everything especially underboost. I was really hoping that the 2nd gen 5 spd trans would help things out as one extra gear really helps for city driving. Maybe I'll do a 5 spd swap but i'm a little leary of punching holes though the firewall for the clutch peddel.
As I did say ealier, I had a sticking caliper so I'd imagin that wasn't helping at all with my problem.

I should clarify 'heavy'.
The ecu starts to wander from stoich to rich before 1/2 throttle-ish (as per wb02).
My advice would be to try a tank of "mostly" not going past even a 1/3 throttle and see how it goes. If you still get bad gas mileage, then consider the o2 sensor.
If you buy a new o2 sensor and still drive lots over 1/3-1/2 throttle. Expect similar bad gas mileage.

I posted in here earlier about my crap *** mileage, I just grabbed a used o2 off of supraforums as per kaiser's suggestion, I'll let you know when it arrives (and I get it installed).
