How much of the HFC134a refr. goes into our system? Does anybody know? Oh, and what temp. should the air have at the vents?

You need to put a guage on the low pressure side schraeder valve. The guage usually comes with the gas. Turn the car on and the A/C on max. You want the needle on the guage to read just under 40 basically.

Kaiser thanks I took her to the Toyota shop and they filled the system with gas. Air temp is around 46 degrees. But I`m not happy. I remember that last year the air was much colder. I`m the first owner and have always enjoyed really, really cold air from the A/C. Is there anything else to check?

14 degrees cooler and it will be snowing in your car. The system is 12 years old. As long as there isn't too much R134 it is what it is. Too much is as bad as too little.

I'm not going to make that call from my desk. I guess decide how much it bothers you and if it actually is 'warmer' than it was a year ago or if it's your imagination. Do some due diligence on Google and decide if it's worth working on.
