Damn!! The junkyard sent the shop the wrong tranny. They were supposed to send first gen GS tranny and they sent an SC300 one instead

*sighs* Now I have to wait for them to source another tranny.

Yeah, that's what I was told except that they'd have to modify the tranny slightly to accomodate the speed sensor. My brother's friend is installing it for me as a favor to him so I really don't want him doing more work that he really needs too.

It's comin' out of a 95' GS and they're charging me around 600 for it, oh and that includes some control arms that are part of the deal as well.

You can't beat that even if you tried. You have lucked out. I'm glad to hear that you can drive your car in a little bit of time. I wish I knew a junkyard with reliable parts like that, I don't trust them any more. Good luck.

How did the transmission replacement go? I'm really jealous that you found one for $600, lol.

My tranny just failed and I can't seem to find one for less than $1600, which is outrageous. I wonder if it's because I have the '96 model which is the 5 speed version? There don't seem to be many around.

Anyway, I'd be interesting in knowing if you got it in and are back on the road?

I haven't had it installed yet. Most likely this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

Alrighty, just picked up my car yesterday. They put in a tranny from a 95' GS300 and replaced the tranny mount as well. It feels so much better now
