SO this morning the car doesn't sound quite right, making this horrible squealing sound and this is what I suspect is causing the problem. No idea how it happened, if the fan came in or the pulley came out, but I'm open to suggestion.

Yeah, me either. The pulley is fine but it dug into the fan blade and so part of that blade is melted around the pulley. I was wondering if maybe one of the engine mounts could have broken and caused the engine to come forward enough to hit the fan?

Hmmm.... Can you supply more photos? The fan and the pulley should be parallel due to they are both attached to the motor. If the motor mount broke and the motor shifted forward, then the radiator would be what bent the fan blade into the pulley. Is the radiator banged up at all?

MSRP on a new pulley is $317. Might as well buy a Titan for that much. The bummer is that you might want to consider the front main seal being damaged. Then there is the fan blade and clutch MSRP are about $210. Both of those are likely shot, at least we know the fan is. Now being that the fan is attached to the waterpump, was that damaged?

I haven't gotten a chance to look at it except for the few minutes I had with it this morning. The radiator looked perfectly fine, and I'm going to say given the noise the water pump was making that it's going to need to get replaced. I'm also considering going with electric fans over the stock fan as a replacement.
I don't think the motor shifted because there's still plenty of space between the fan and the radiator. I'm just wondering how far apart the fan and the pulley are supposed to be so I can get a better idea of what's in the wrong place.

Ok, so a friend (who happens to be a Master Mercedes mechanic and my girlfriend's father) looked at the picture and thinks the bearing on that pulley went out. He said if i can get the fan off the pulley it should just fall right out because the bearing is gone.
