What the difference between the Pioneer and the Nakamichi stereo?
I believe mine is a Pioneer because it does not say Nakamichi on it. So, what is the difference anyway. Also, the tape player works when it wants to.

The Nak system had a bit more power. The Pioneer had 220 watts peak in contrast to that of the Nak, which had 280 watts peak. Another major difference was the size of the sub, the Pioneer system had a 10" while the Nak system came with a 12." The speakers were all upgraded from the standard Pioneer stuff to all Nak seperates, that included neodymium tweeters as well.

I thought Nakamichi was an upgraded system compared to yours. Also I would just never take head unit out because it blends nice with interior. If you were to put aftermarket unit then you have to get mounting kit and unit is so small looks ugly.

I think you'd probably have to listen to both and compare and decide for yourself. If the Nak stuff is like the Aristo stuff (fujitsu ten), I'm pretty sure it would be hard to upgrade.
Did the GS get the center channel speaker in the dash like the Aristo and 5 channel dolby DSP?
At any rate, I wasted an afternoon trying to switch to some old competition 6.5" JBL stuff I had and ended up going back to the stock Aristo speakers. I would have had to spend another day or two designing and building custom boxes, and dampening the door, etc. to equal the stockers with a little more base without the sub.

I found the stock aristo stuff not all that great... I have a toyota deck which i guess is pioneer... My CD player has a hard time reading all cd's even originals... Just wondering if there are any good kits that I can use that won't make a aftermarket deck look so out of place?
ALso the stock 10" sub sucks i can't hear it at all... should i just add a bigger amp?
