Is the 1st Gen GS300's engine the same as the NA MKIV Supra's (93-97)??
A gal friend of mine recently acquired a first gen GS300, I'm not sure what year, but it should all be the same. I'm wondering if the engine (2jz-ge) is the exact same as the NA MKIV's which also has a 2jz-ge. I'm wondering if it's IDENTICAL?!
The reason I ask is because I might be tinkering with the motor and replacing some parts on the GS and NA Supra parts are plentiful. Also might be going NA-T...

Yep, it's the same. The only thing that is a little different is the timing belt. I work at a Toyota dealer. I used to let do all the maintenance on my old 93 GS300. I ordered everything the same as 93-97 Supra NA, except for the timing belt. He told me that if I use the Supra NA timing, the engine will run rough. Besides that, everything else is pretty much the same.
