I'm going to remove the front seats and carpet to lay down some insulation. I don't have a shop manual. Does anyone have a schematic, instructions, tips, warnings, etc? The center console looks like a beast to remove.
Thanks

You dont have to remove the center console in order to remove the carpet.First , undo the front seat belt and you must remove the seat belt tensioner.Once you have done that you have to remove 4 bolts that hold the seat down and dont forget to disconnect the plug under the seat. . Remove the seat and be very careful not to hit your door panel.Remove only the lower back seat by simply pull up hard on the lower cushion. You have to remove all the scuff plates and then you can start removing the carpet. The center console doesn't have to be removed but the rear portion need to be loosened. In the armrest area there are 2 screws and then you simply have to pull up the tray and you will see a few more bolts that need to be removed and the rear portion of the center console will be loose enough to remove the carpet..Hope this helps..

Center console wasnt hard for me to remove and I did have to. It was only velcro'd in the front but it was slipped over the bolt tabs for the back of the console.

There is a plastic cover around the shifter itself. You slide it down, you may need to pull hard. There are two phillips screws. Slide the shifter off.
Then you pop the shifter console wood trim out, but only after removing the ash tray cig lighter area which also snaps out. Then inside the armrest console there is a piece of felt that looks like its the bottom of the tray. It actually pulls out to reveal two 10mm bolts. I think I forgot two steps but once you start to pull it out you'll see what you've got ahead of you.
