oil pan gasket replacement

Has anyone replaced their oil pan gasket themselves ? I have a 93 GS300 and can't tell if the cross member is going to get in the way or not..

Trick question. There is no gasket. It's RTV.

The lower gasket is easy but if you are doing the upper pan then yes it's a PIA.

I didn't know there were 2 - I better get my **** under there again and take a look. If it's the upper, is it "doable" ? i.e. what did you have to remove to get the upper pan off ?

I've never removed the upper pan myself. I've heard that the crossmember has to be dropped and then it's PIA to break the seal to bring down the pan.

I can handle breaking the seal , but not sure about the crossmember - or maybe you have to lift the engine to get enough room to remove it ? (that's what I had to do on my F-150)
