Default For those Mounting Subs on rear deck.

What Sub are you guys using. When i bought the car the guy had an 8" JLw0 drilled into the hole with some MDF. I took it out and put in a 10" DEI sub but it sounded like crap. I tried mounting it on the rear deck and it sounded like crap. so now I wanna try using a real Free Air Sub or anything you guys can recomend mounting on the rear deck.

I searched for the JL IB10 but those are discontinued.

A 12" will drop right in if you remove the the existing plastic template..If all that is already removed keep in mind that our factory sub was either 2 or 4 ohm..So you need something that will play within that impedence.Honestly use a very low powered sub and it should sound good..

Check this thread on so called "free-air" subs in the Lexus Audio, Video, Security & Electronics forum. Lots of good info there

Or if you have some spare time, and i mean alot lol, you can do what I did and build an enclosure under the sub. Check out my myspace page http://www.sounddomain.com/id/gompka
