Default Can a Supra tranny

bolt up to the stock 2J?
reason I ask, my trans just ****ted itself on me when I was trying to come out of a parking lot.
I haven't taken it apart to check it or anything but if worse comes to worse I need to know if I can throw one in.

great.
I'm also thinking it just might be devoid of fluid. I know when my 180SX mysteriously got rid of all of it's tranny fluid it wouldn't take gears, or would half engage. It's basically the same.
it won't take any gears except park or neutral (and it takes a while to engage park) and when I try to use reverse or D it'll just make metallic grinding sounds...

It did hit hard going into reverse and when I put it in park and let off the brake it would roll forward like 4 inches.

Yeah...after searching a bit more I finally found some similar problems.
I also checked my trans fl level and it was REALLY high and brown. fluid is done for. burnt. all the lubrication is done for.

So, I'm still trying to find the method to change the fluid unless someone can tell me how.

There is a bolt on the trans pan. 14mm I think. Drain and refill through the dipstick tube. Should be like 3qts in the pan, use Toyota type Iv fluid. You want to do this every 3k miles until the fluid is clean again, if it doesn' kill it.

Ahh damnit.
ok, I changed the tranny fluid, and it did need to change. but after even further checking, the problem is in the rear. I'm trying to pinpoint exactly what.

now, the driveshaft and halfshafts are spinning in relation to whichever gear the car is in, but there is no wheel movement. The shafts spin all the way to the wheel. I can hear a grinding sound where the shaft is supposed to connect to the wheel.

Is it the diff, or has the half shaft popped out? I don't have a jack to get it up in the air and take it apart to check, but it's one of the 2.

You don't rebuild open diffs. Find another diff local, a used open diff from a CL member should be practically free. Take out the old diff and switch the ring gear over to the new diff. Hopefully, you haven't torn up the ring and pinion. You may need a whole new pumpkin depending on what broke. Either way you will need someone with the know how to check the backlash when they reinstall it.
Diffs are not an area I am really skilled in. Someone with more expertise should back up my thoughts.

I'm just gonna swap in a whole new pumpkin, but the hex bolts on the back (the 3 on the rear) are bugging the hell out of me!
are they 11 or 12mm?

I have a 10mm hex socket for the other bolts but it's too small for these. I went out and bought a 1/2" etc but they're too large...nowhere I stopped at had anything in metric larger than 10. WTF? I know it has to exist cuz it's there on the car plai nas day. some help plz?

anything I can use as an improvisation tool to take the clips off the side shafts?
turns out the left half shaft/side shaft thing is not connected properly like I first suspected.
$319.50 gone unnecessarily lol.
anyways. once I get that P.O.S. off it should pop in somewhere right? I really hope it's not ground down and needs to be replaced. because I have no more money. and I can't work here.
Yes, I'm going to be selling the GS...soon as it's fixed.
