Default What do you think of this dash kit?

Hey guys,

I haven't posted too much on here but I've read nearly everything on this site and I haven't seen too many people modifying the interior of the Gs3 too much. Here is a dash kit I did for my car, what do you guys think?

Tried for the whole gray and gray and black type of thing.

I haven't done the radio trim piece yet because I'm installing a touch screen double din soon, but you get the idea...

I like that a lot. Good work. I was thinking getting the marble wood trim as well, I just don't know if it will look good on my tan interior....yes I have the tan interior. *sigh*

Nice! I like that. Where did you get that done at or is it an overlay? I'm talking with a Paul at Pattertek about getting mine done.

It definitely looks good with our interior. Only thing is that the center piece around the clock looks too small...

I just realized that your carpet is black. What did you use to do that and how well did it turn out?

It is an overlay. I bought it on ebay from a seller called xcessorystore. You can get the overlay in a whole mess of different colors or textures. Really easy to install, I love it. Its not hard plastic, but a soft, flexible adhesive overlay. Cost total (plus an extra custom piece for the ashtray) $140. Not too bad right?

The center piece for the clock did end up being a hair small. I was a little annoyed about it but I stretched it a little and it fits better now. I just always felt the wood in the gray interior was weird. Wood in tan is fine, but not really in gray...

As to the carpets, they are not the OEM carpets that come with the car. I bought this used and when I did, the carpets were missing. I simply bought black universal carpets and they are held in place with velcro underneath the carpet and on the floor.(because those universal ones never stay in place). It looks great and everyone thinks they came with the car.

Are you serious? Velcro, universal carpets? I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it in your car already. I know this is about your dash kit (which looks great by the way) but, show us some more pics of those carpets. That's completely new to me.

LOL, I'll get some pics of the carpets up soon, but the reason you probably haven't seen it is because this is what college kids do when they can't afford fancy stuff lol.

They buy $20.00 carpets and stick'em down

Here is my cardomain site if you'd like to see more pics of the dash kit. I'll also probably put the carpet stuff there first since its easier to load pictures there.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2804581/1

and here is the url of the seller on ebay for the dash kit. Check out all the different options, its pretty neat. (and fyi i am in no way associated/affiliated with him/her, i just really liked their product and the result )
