Default a bit of a tail light problem...

Ok..heres the story.

I went to O'reillys to get a taillight bulb because one of the bulbs were out...ok, no big deal, it happens. I needed the one that was for the Brake/Tail light cause it was the left side that was out.

I install the bulb and then all of a sudden the running lights go out..brake lights work just fine..weird. I check the fuse under the dash, fuse is out..hrm..so i replace it, goes out again...I need to get my *** home, so i put in a 15 instead of a 10 fuse in there to hold me down.

I get home, I notice that my running lights on the trunk are still on, but the two outside taillights are out. I press the brakes and the all brake lights still work.

I take out the bulb and thats when i notice its not the right bulb. Damnit, i thought...his fault, partially my fault for not checking. I get the right bulb, put it in..running tail lights on the rear still dont come on..all brake lights work fine.

I go underneath the dash to see if any fuses are blown and they are all fine...is it a relay problem? if so, where is it? Why is only the running lights on the outer taillights off and the ones on the trunk are on??

take out all the bulbs and inspect them..also, because you forced that wrong bulb in, you prolly have a short on the socket..check it

i was talking about forcing the bulb into its socket,, bending it so that + and - are touching..thus blowing the fuse every time.. or a blank wire was touching ground every time you closed the trunk/trunk wiring harness in the trunk lid touching ground

problem was...popped the wire.

bigger fuse, strong relay, wrong bulb in place=popped wire in weakest point of the wire.

So I fixed the problem..did a lil re-wire and issue is solved.

but just remember ladies and gents...if u have an electrical issue..check fuse, then relay, then ground, then wire
