Updating Gauge cluster LED Lights

Did you get any more info on the AC controls? I know vipguy was talking about dremeling some bulb plugs, but which ones in particular? The LEDs from LEDlight.com don't come with any plugs do they? Like you said PWidow, it would be better if we just knew what size to use if there's a direct replacement.

hey vipguy or pwidow,
do either of you know what bulb size it is for the drivetrain portion of the cluster(the part that says P,N,R,D,2,1)? is it a 74 bulb like everything else?
I only wanna take the cluster out once, so i wanna make sure i get everything right the first time

The leads are wrapped around the plastic housing. If your trying to use LED's your best bet is to find some that have the housing, or just solder them with resistors into the location on the PCB.

ok, i have a question.
the 8 spots on the back of the cluster that will hold the white wideband LEDs.
I replaced them all, but only 4 of the 8 work. All i did was stick in the LED bulb where the old one was. Do i have to put anything else in there? i've pulled the metal leads inside a little so the bulbs held in tight. What more would i have to do?
Pwidow, vipguy, twojayzee...any answers to these?

lol no worries. I've taken this cluster out 4 times in the last 4 days trying to figure out what i need to do to make this work how i want it to.

looks way different than my corolla tach looked like from the back lol...

leds are polarity correct only. u can't have it backwards or else it won't light.
reverse the socket 180 degrees before plugging the "non lit" ones back in.
also, contacts may be dirty or not touching correctly.
u might wanna get new 74 fitment sockets since they're
so cheap..
autolumination has them a couple for a buck i thought.

Climate control is next
twojayzee, the LEDs i got were the ones suggested on the first page of this thread, wideband LEDs, no resistors needed as far as i can tell

hey pwidow, lemme know when you do your climate control. i know vipguy said we would probably have to modify the bulb plugs for the LEDs, but if you do it soon, could you take pictures? i probably won't be able to do mine for about 2 weeks or so...absolutely no time
