hey vipguy or pwidow,
do either of you know what bulb size it is for the drivetrain portion of the cluster(the part that says P,N,R,D,2,1)? is it a 74 bulb like everything else?
I only wanna take the cluster out once, so i wanna make sure i get everything right the first time

I finally took apart my climate control unit and decided to take some pics.
Here is the front of the unit showing the bulbs
The back of the unit
Comparing the small light to a 74 T5 light bulb
Just wondering for the people that have done this swap, how do you change the lights to white? Do you replace the whole silver socket and bulb? Cause I learned the hard way that the bulbs don't come out, they break pretty easily.

i had tried these originally for my dash lights but they ended up splotchy.
and bright in only certain areas..
so i ended up using them for my climate control and it works alright in there.
i used something like this:
for the dash and they diffused the light a lot better.
as for the "superwhite" ones out there which is a regular bulb
with a blue coating, they dont shine as bright and the color looks
cheesy.
all these bulbs are be bought from http://www.ledlight.com
the prices are good, and color on them is good too.
the only thing i had to do was, on the climate control, i had to use
some bulb plugs from the 74 fitment, dremel it down so that it would
fit iin there. and for the LCD part(temperature) the bulb hole is
so small and those bulbs don't come off, i just soldered the LED leds to
the contact points and let the led sit like that.

Good stuff!
