i don't even have a cup holder in my aristo.
As for the door moudling warping i get some wind noise...
I do however have wet trunk..
mine was half full when i went looking for a spare tire and I noticed it was frozen solid in place with all the water, was an absolute ****... it was freezing cold, i needed a buddy to yank with me and finally got it out along with a huge chunk of ice it was part of (guess it was the easiest way to get out the water...
Anyways why does it leak I didn't even know until just the other day.

I agree with your comment as it applies to other issues with the car, but the cupholder is a piece of crap. They didn't change the design, which is flawed, so buying a new one would be flushing money down the can, since it's only a matter of time before that will break. My brother has fixed mine twice. I would prefer to put the money into new leather, nav, and paint.

however i did have to have the Window seal reshaped about a year ago, on both rear windows

OMG the window trim has to be the dookiest it takes time to remove. Front door- remove the door panel, mirror, interior moulding and you should see nuts going around the frame its a little hard to describe until you do it but if you start i will walk you through it if you like, the rear is a different bag-o-worms

Lower ball Joints
Upper control arms
Window run, or door seal whatever you want to call it
Broken cup holder
Water in trunk
I think the lower ball joint issue is the most prevelent, and dangerious. It seems like every 1g gs we get in the shop the ball joints are either bad or have recently been replaced.

That's when I took it to the "stealership" for inspection...now I know better!
I'm glad they found the problem though...anybody else would have passed the vehicle and put people in danger I guess...

i've asked this question before but got no response... wasn't there a part recall issued for the 93-95 1st gen GS for the ball joints because there was a lack of lubrication? I thought there was and if you go to the dealership they will replace that part for you...

We always charge for them. Something like 100 for each ball joint and 3 hours labor.

There's no recall that I know of. Like I said, almost everyone we see needs lower ball joints. The new ones that we put in have not been modified to prevent failure that I know of. We have one customer that comes in with close to 300k on his gs and we've replaced the ball joints 3 times on that car.

what I was specifically talking about was:
NHTSA Recall History
1993-94: Spherical portions of certain lower ball joints are not smooth, causing friction that can lead to ball joint separation.
1995-97: Due to inadequate lubrication, excessive wear can cause damage to lower ball joints; separation from steering-knuckle arms could occur.
Does this recall mean anything? I don't know what NHTSA stands for, but they point out this lower ball joint inadequacy in every year of the jzs147 body style was made.
