Who beats on their high mileage GS?
Can a high mileage 2jzge survive a heavy footed driver? I am going to be honest with you guys and say that I usually accelerate under wide open throttle (WOT) very frequently when merging, etc, and then once I get to the speed limit, I cruise. I don't do 120 mph blasts or anything like that though. I am also very meticulous with maintenance and do everything myself.
I'm wondering how many heavy footed high mileage GS300 drivers are out there, and do your cars put up with the heavy driving? Has anybody spun a bearing, damaged a transmission, or damaged something else because of a possible result of the heavy driving? I plan on keeping the car all stock (with the exception of a carb legal intake) so this just pertains to stock GS300s.

You found one here. Ive only got 180k though so not really high milage but I accelerate pretty good and very often. Im building a crazy gte motor right now but, for the last 7 years and 100k I have had a greddy airnix filter and exhaust on the ge while my wife was driving it. And I would never dream of letting anyone touch any of my cars for maint or mods.

i have a total lead foot, i am constatly flooring it when merging and in other situations, my car seems to like it well enough, she ressponds really well to it and still runs strong at 170,000..... i am really worried about it though, i just know that im gonna floor it one day, hear some thunking noise and break something, but until that day im just gonna make sure i do everyhting right as far as maintenance

Im not high mileage..sittin pretty at about 130K, but I do drive like everyone else in this thread. Lead foot is an understatement. I just put brand new tires back in November, and I just had to replace the rears on wednesday. Not something Im proud of, but I should have gotten a tire with a higher tread rating, but I like the potenzas, they handle really well.

Damn, that explains my situation with my GS exactly.

Yeah I figured. As long as the engine can last, I'll be fine. Glad to know these engines are solid. I can replace the transmission in a couple of hours. My next concern is how difficult will it be to find a stock used transmission, and how much do they cost?

Yeah still running strong but this is nothing I have seen 2004 Lincoln TOWNCAR with 408K miles limo car that has gone thru so much beating but it still runs all original those 4.6 Ford engines are actually very good.

i agree dude, i worked at the Panoz Racing School at Road Atlanta this past summer, and some of our Panoz Esperante school cars had the ford 4.6 they take a serious beating in the schools and they require very little maintenance, its amazing the crap these enginges go through (a bunch of really rich dudes who have way too much free time and think they can drive a race car) lol
