Exclamation So many questions...

Oh geez where do I start...

Alright, I have a 1996 GS300 that has a few problems that need to be worked out. First, water somehow always ends up pooling in the spare tire area. Luckily I live in So-Cal, where it doesn't rain much but I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on how to resolve this problem.

My transmission is also...failing. I believe 96 is when Toyota first put the 5 speed auto tranny in the GS300. Unfortunately, my 2nd gear is gone. The only time when it will shift into second is if I turn off the car when it is warm, turn it back on and have ECT on and have the accelerator past 1/2 throttle. But on the 2-3 upshift, my revs go insane for a second, only to fall when it shifts to third. After all that excitement, it won't go into second again unless I turn the car off and restart it. Also, between the 1-3, 3-4, and 4-5 upshifts, there is a drop in power after each shift. I will make a video if you guys need it. I ran the OBD code and it turned out to be P1705 or "Direct Clutch Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction". Anybody have experience with this?

Well, I guess that's it for the problems. Any suggestions?

Also, would anybody know where I could get an Aristo front strut bar? I am also looking for a Limited Slip Diff as the open diff really isn't working out for me. I also need a few body panels and lights.

Well that about wraps it up.

Thanks!

i think that water in the spare tire area is a common thing with these cars. not sure though.

i dont know much about the transmission problems so i cant help there...sorry

aristo front strut bar i would say could be found on ebay, its not common but every so often you get lucky.
