Default How do I replace my Power Steering Pump??

I have just received my car back from the Toyota Dealership. They have said that I will need new rotors, brake pads, shocks, and a power steering pump. I would like to know what are the steps on replacing the power steering pump. I plan on purchasing the pump today and would like to have it installed no later than Friday. If anyone has ever replaced their power steering pump, what are the steps for a successful installation! Thanks

Holy ****** my replacement was alot more simple then that?
1993 Lexus GS300 - removal
1. Start with taking your battery out
2. Remove upper Radiator hose ( Or position out of the way)
3.There are only two bolts holding the pump to the engine - loosen these
4. Leave an exstention attatched to one of the bolts connected to the engine block This will leverage the front pulley Bolt and you will be able to remove it
5.remove pulley
6. Remove the return line located on the bottom of the pump ( This was the hardest part for me it did not want to break loose)
7. after the bolt gets loose remove slowly PS fluid will spill out.
8. Look for the Brass gasket the goes on either side of the banjo fitting.
9. Know reverse these steps
10. i removed the Pulley from the new pump and bolted the unit back in place (Tightening all fittings to spec.)
11. Run your sepentine belt throught the proper outline
12. holding the Pulley with the Belt in Line Pull it toward the drivers side to get the tensioner to give it slack( this is a generous pull but i did it by hand )
13 Guide it back on to the Bolt and tighten the nut ( tighten the nut by again leverageing an exstension through a gap in the pulley.
14. Fill resevoir and start the long process of bleading all the air out of the system.

Bleading the system
there should be a red plug that comes on the new unit leave it on so it blocks the return line. Get a clear hose so you can see the clearity of the fluid when bleading the system.
Tape or connect the hose to the return line and feed it to an empty clean container.

i used 3 quarts of fluid
1. to poor more fluid into resivoir
2. on the end of the clear hose to fill up to again transfer to the resivoir to fill
3. As a backup to let the air from the flushed fluid settle to the top when waiting between short flush's of the fluid.
I only turned the engine over for a few seconds at a time between each filling of the resivoir.
This took less time then getting the damn bolt of the bottom of the old unit.
you will know the system is clear when you look in the resivoir and the look is clear. and the hose connected to the return line was clear also

I know this is scattary info but it worked for me. I can take pictures and point to each item if you would like!

If you wouldn't mind taking pictures that would be great.

Sorry man no pictures right now. its really self expanitory when you take a look under the hood and see what you will be doing. All you really need to know is to Flush the Fluid Slowly so that you get all the air out of the system.
You can email me at kasey@triplecrownsports.com if you need some over the phone or email help when you are going to do it.

Good luck
