I've been looking all over the web and 1st gen key with remote are rare, I need a blank one with remote so I can use the keyless system to unlock the car. I was wondering if you can also use the 2nd gen key which mostly you can but can the remote be program if anyone has tried, If not what have you guys done to get a oem or oe remote key other than going aftermarket. Reason is because I only got the key i guess previous owner lost or broke the remote, any help will be thank.

Apparently the fcc id on the key has to match your car. So I dont think a 2nd Gen key will work.

ive program a remote before and the fcc id were different(on an acura). But i know what you mean. I want to know if i can get the remote and reprogram it. Most likely it has to be 95-96 remote if not mistaking. But they are so rare to find. Can the dealer still provide this?? has anyone ran into this trying to get/find a remote key blank. I only have the key which cannot be put on my key chain and has to be carried in my pocket all the time. any help? finding the remote and guts? i found the shell. but still need the guts..

Did you look at the keys in that ebay link at all? You just need the remote part right? Im pretty sure the actual "key" part is interchangeable.
