They spoke about that on another thread and I think from what I remember they said it would fit but the airbag might create a prob. I think the convo. Was in the thread with the different pics of 1st gens. But its the first thread wit the pixs not the 1 seize started

Im doing that as my next mod. The SC's had a 3spoke wheel. From what I understand, you need the airbag mechanism that goes behind the steering wheel.
Im looking for a GS430 wheel to match my wifes car. The Matrix and Corolla had a 3 spoke also, dont know if the air bag mech would fit though ?

yes i hear that the 98 2nd gen & Rx300 steering wheel will fit our 1st gen GS

2 gen gs rx es & is will fit the 1st gen if u happen to get a sigle stage airbag you can just change the airbag plug and use it as far as the dual stage bag i not sure if you can use it with a 1st gen.

i currently have a 3 spoke 2gen wheel on m 1st gen with a single stage bag fits sweet!

Do you have a photo ? what is the difference between single vs dual stage bags ?

Single stage bags will deploy at full force no matter what. If you're going 5mph or 50. A dual stage bag will deploy at lesser force at low speeds and full force at higher speeds.

So I presume that the SRS computer, sensors and wiring are different.

Theres also the clocking ring under the bag. Is that what makes the difference if the wheel bolts up or not ?
