5 Speed Swap...
So i REALLY like the body style of first gen gs300s more than an sc300, and id like to pick up either one of these vehicles for my next project...
Ive read on here as many threads as i could about swapping a manual transmission into the gs300. A lot of people make it seem like its a huge project, but besides sourcing a soarer r154, and getting a supra or sc300 e brake setup, i would imagine you could probably use an sc300 clutch and brake pedal setup with a little drilling and fabricating, any word on this?? In the thread with the black gs from hawaii it seems like he is doing a custom pedal setup witch does not really bother me all that much, but i would like to use stock parts for the ease of finding them. Ive done auto to manual swaps on nissan 240s, civics and my first VW i owned was an auto when i first bought it and i swapped a 5 speed into it. I know there are a few manual first gens running around, id like to try to make this an informative thread for not only myself but others who are interested as well..

Theres a few threads out there, Im not sure if theres any that tell you how to do it, but I think in a couple there are some people that listed the parts you may need to do it.

thats funny i looked and i saw Abear and i thought they cut off my name or something. Im from RI but i live in ct now, have lived here for like 10 years now...
I dont really necessarily want a step by step guide, moreso id like a parts list of some sort, i can make brackets and whatever i need to do, but i figure a parts list of what would and wouldnt work would be beneficial to a lot of people....

yeah thats the thread i was talkin about, i believe he used a custom clutch pedal assembely....
I dont see why ya couldnt use a stock sc300/supra clutch pedal/brake pedal setup, and a sc3 stock tranny or supra tranny...

if you take a closer look at the gs where the clutch pedal goes its not exactly the same shape as the area of the sc... search is your friend as there was a guy trying a supra pedal set up which wasnt to bolt on

I used the supra pedal on my 5 speed swap. I like how I could mount the bracket where the e-brake is, and the pedal curves toward the brake. I purchased a wilwood, but I just sent it back because it would require me relocating my fuse box which I didn't want to do.
The Supra pedal just required me to modify the stock bracket and then weld it to the e-brake plate using some square tubing. I also used the supra reservoir.

oh ok, i think in one of the threads i found when i searched it there was a pic of yours in there with the extension...i take it you dont have a soarer r154 then. Do you have a mk3 supra r154?
Are 6 speed supra trannys, similar dimensions of a supra r154, wondering how that could work out because they are pretty bulletproof.

Please update this with info! I have an mk3 supra i am trying to sell for a 1st gen GS300. I also have a full soarer 1jzgte with soarer R154 (internal shifter) on my trailer. if I have to modify the shifter housing even FURTHER back, it is pointless to cut up the soarer stuff. I rather cut up a stock mk3 shifter housing cause those are a dime a dozen.
