You also get a 12 year old car that can beat some stock cars nowadays in terms of style and speed, the N/a version of the most desired swap engine. (According to Importuner , i think it was) And in my case, The cops laught at you for having a built in phone...and not a bluetooth one..

You guys make it sound like this car is terrible. Sure it has some minor problems here and there. But its a 15 year old car!

I STILL have my first gen GS. It has over 200,000 miles and still runs smooth as heck. I'm one of the OG's in this place. haha.

Jmai, I think you might have had yours longer than I've owned mine. I bought my 1994 GS in 2002. I love the quiet smoothness and really don't care that it doesn't peel up the pavement. I am 37 and don't need go fast cars for daily use anymore. I also love the fact she starts up every morning, has no mechanical issues, and does not cost a lot to maintain. Paid off is a nice plus, too. I love the car.

Whats up Link!. Yeah I remember you too!!

Yeah. i'm 24, I fly for work 3-10 days out of the month so I really don't get to enjoy a new car right now. I just use my GS to drive to the office which is 8 miles each way.

I hop in, car starts right up first time everytime. Let it idle for like 30 seconds to get the RPM down from 1500 and off we go. I have had my car since October of 2002 and besides oil changes every 3000-4000 miles I have had no major problems. Small fixes like window trim or window regular are the only minor fixes I've had. I drive about 15,000 miles a year because I take this car on lots of road trips etc...

Link, what part of OC are you from? I'm in Irvine, I live at "The Village" across from Irvine Spectrum!

Jmai, I have you beat by a few months then for ownership. I bought mine in January 2002. I had originally planned to drive it for 3 years and then get something new, but the car just kept doing everything I asked it to do. Still does. You've got miles on me. I'm at 163K.

I live in Aliso and drive to Irvine (Jeronimo / Alton for work). Also 8 miles. Hope to see you rollin' around this area one of these days.

First generation GS 300's are awesome. They have the straight inline six engine, unique looks with the hunched back look and of course the Lexus reliability...
