Exclamation Engine Problems

Ok so i messed up my engine a bit today. i took the throttle body off to clean it, it was soooo dirty. so i cleaned it, put everything back together. and now it sounds like a lawnmower and when i give it gas, it staggers a bit then starts to sound like an old lawnmower. and at one point i pushed the throttle a bit to like 3000 rpm, and it got stuck there! i turned the car off cuz it just wouldnt go down.

i checked all the vacuum lines 5 times already, and all are in. all the sensors are connected. i dont know what it could be. i really need to get the car fixed today, so any answers would really help, even if your not sure. cuz tomorrow im taking it to get a gte swap, and i need to be able to get it there.

UPDATE: Now when i turn the car on this very strong smell comes out and the car starts to go to 3000 rpm then to 2000 then back to 3000. its doin some crazy stuff. the smell thats coming out is almost like roach killer, but not as strong. if all else fails ill just get it towed

Check your throttle cable to see if it binds. That will cause the RPMs to stick. Then Check the coolant hose under the throttle body. If its loose it will leak coolant into the spark plug valley and cause misfire.

what do you mean by bind? and i just checked the coolant hose right now and its good. i think it is the throttle cable, cuz someone was messing with it a few days ago, and i havent turned it on ever since. but i dont know what i have to do to it

there is some left over seafoam in the tank, could that be a reason? but then why the high 3000 idle?

i was quoted at 90 for towing, the cheapest i could find compared to 180...so i think ill just get it towed unless someone has an idea.

I had the same problem when i had my 7mgte in my old supra, it turned out to be the CPS sensor, idk if the jz has one but that'll be a good check.

you mean tps? the cps is the one on the left front side of the head on a 7m and wouldn't have much to do with this anyway, I would check the tps as well as the throttle cable and linkage.

I'm pretty sure this is the answer as well.

Did you spray your engine down with water? You need to remove the plate that covers the spark plug and use an air compressor and blow all the water out.

i didnt do anything except for take the throttle body off, wipe it down, then put it back together. but its ok cuz the engines already out, and gte is being put in.

ill probably just take apart the old engine and clean it and sell the parts anyway.
