We made 700whp (a record I believe) on a bone stock 160,000 mile junkyard long block. Only thing done was headgasket and ARP studs. These non VVTI motors are every bit as strong as their turbo counterparts.
PSI has nothing to do with how much the internals can take. It has everything to do with your supporting mods such as engine management, fuel system, ignition, etc.

Here is a vid of the 700whp pull.

That was a GT4094R at about 32psi, on a somewhat hurting motor. Again, all stock except hg and studs and an intake manifold plenum with 90mm throttle body.

Check out my old setup on my SC. It was a simple setup and got decent power. This was on a basic tune so I wouldn't blow the tranny on the dyno.

Old setup:Turbo sc30094 427rwhp @ 15 psi 60-1, vpc w/440 chip, 440 inj., gcc., TT head gasket, hks midpipe, Greddy exhaust.

No, The ge has top feed and the GTE has side feed. The fuel rail spacing is also different.

I am considering going NA-T within the next couple of months, (94gs300 2jz-ge) but had a few questions of what it would demand of me. I don't want a crazy HP increase. Somewhere around 300HP. I wanted to know what stock equipment you 1st Gen NA-T guys replaced to accommodate the extra boost. Did you change out your transmission? upgrade your head gaskets, pistons? What about your ECU? The kit i see seems to come with everything, from the inter cooler and piping to an optional gasket set. What else would i need?

For 300 Hp, I dont think you would have to change much besides the head gasket. I was told the GE tranny can handle around 380 to the wheels, any more is pushing it. You definetly wont need new pistons, and im not sure about a new ecu, but the greddy e-manage is around 300 bucks online, so You could go with that.

p.s. I was also wondering if the GTE Ecu can be used with a custom turbo kit?

Thanks for the response and the good leads. I will definitely look into the greedy ecu. Any other opinions are welcome as well.

what about a head swap from a TT in an N/A bottom end; is this swap possible/stright forward? I have been toying with the idea of going N/A-T by doing a head swap BUT I haven't seen one done this way plus I have been wondering what is the expense of JDM Aristo swap vs going N/A-T... Is it worth going N/A-T versus doing a JDM Aristo motor swap?

Also, what is a good brand turbo to purchase? i read somewhere in the forums that the XSpower wasn't very good. What do they cost?/Where is a good place to look for the kits? Again i am looking for a low boost. Somewhere around 300-320HP. Nothing extravagant.

Turbo chargers vary by price by size usually and wether their ballbearing or not, Some good brands are garrett, greddy,Turbonetic,HKS, Hitachi.
Heres a link with what I assume are estimated RWHP gains for the 2jz with different turbos :
http://www.moreboost.org/turbos.htm

The names of the turbos often represent their size so if you were looking for a 60-1 turbo, You could search in google for Garrett 60-1
