Hello,
I have a 1993 GS300, its making a weird sort of 'clunking' sound intermittantly at idle. The car is running fine, and the noise only comes sometimes at idle in park or neutral, goes away when its in gear. It seems like its originating somewhere around the intake side of the engine, I actually thought it was right from the Power steering pump. I am new to the forum, and this is my first Lexus. Any ideas on what this could be ? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey, thanks for the quick response. Are you referring to the tensioner for the Serpintine belt, or the Timing belt ? I tried spraying some wd40 on the serpintine belt tensioner just to see if it was the source....didnt really make a difference...but then again...i didnt know if it would. Do you have any direction I can take to find out for sure what's causing it ?
